Gippi is children based movie starring Riya Vij; the movie Gippi is directed by Sonam Nair and Produced by Karan Johar. Gurpreet Kaur aka ‘Gippi’ is a 14-year-old girl who lives in Simla, along with her mother Pappi (role played by Divya Dutta) and brother Booboo (Arbaz Kadwani). She is fat, geek and doesn’t know how to handle the physical, emotional and social changes happening in her life.

Gippi is a backbencher in school and is always being bullied by the stylish queen-bee Shamira. She is making her finest attempt to figure out on how to deal with living in a busted home at home. Lastly in the midst of all this chaos, she falls madly in love with an elderly guy, who is actually a brooding heartbreaker. When eventually her love story comes to an embarrassing end, and she is disrespected in public, Gippi decides to take her life in her hands and accepts the challenge given by Shamira to stand against her in the school elections. No matter what the outcome might come, but Gippi ensures to have a great time in the journey, filling it with delicious desserts, funny teachers, school crushes, and Shammi Kapoor dances. The movie Gippi is a modern-day story of an ordinary and overweight Gippi, who throughout the course of the movie, learns to love herself for exactly who she is.
